Jewish Divorce

mje.PNG

The divorce ritual itself is straightforward. Our Rabbis will walk you through the painful process, answer all of your questions and help you through this difficult time.  Couples may choose to appears before the beit din, together, or separately.  Although the Talmud required that the get (bill of divorce) be granted with the husband’s “full consent,” the rabbis specified circumstances under which a wife could request that the beit din, or rabbinic court, attempt to “compel” the husband to grant a divorce, for example, if he did not fulfill his marital obligations.  Please contact the clergy office to schedule an appointment to discuss your options (305) 937-1880 or email suzanne@atjc.org.
